Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center

The Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center is one of the many fusion centers located across the United States. Fusion centers are collaborative efforts of two or more agencies, including local, state, and federal partners, that share and analyze intelligence and information to combat terrorism, gang activity, organized crime, and other major criminal activities.

In the case of OCIAC, it operates within Orange County, California, and focuses on gathering, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence and information to support law enforcement and public safety agencies. These centers typically aim to enhance the ability to safeguard communities by increasing the flow of information to improve the ability to detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to criminal and terrorist activity.

Department of Homeland Security

The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) is designed to support 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in enhancing their security measures. Targeting nonprofits at high risk of attacks, particularly in high-threat urban areas, the NSGP provides funds for physical security enhancements, staff training, threat assessments, and other security-related activities.

Funding allocation is based on risk analysis, effectiveness of proposals, and integration with local preparedness efforts. The grant amounts vary annually, depending on the total funding and number of applicants. This program is a crucial part of DHS's efforts to strengthen community-level preparedness and safety.

Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is the Nation's risk advisor, working with partners in OCIAC and DHS to defend against today's threats and collaborating with industry to build more secure and resilient infrastructure for the future by identifying and assessing threats to infrastructure, coordinating cybersecurity programs with U.S. states, working with partners to defend against threats and collaborating with industry to build more secure infrastructure.
